Fr Mc Inerney’s Departure from Creagh NS
Fr Mc Inerney has been appointed Parish Priest to Eyrecourt, Meelick and Clonfert and will take up his new position shortly. The Board of Management wishes to thank Fr Mc Inenery for his trojan work as Chairperson, for his kindness to the staff and pupils, for the energy he brought to the many school projects undertaken and for his friendship and good-humour. Fr Mc Inerney thanked the Board of Management, Principal, Staff, Parents, Parents’ Association and the Pupils for their support and kindness to him. The BOM wishes him well in his new role as Parish Priest. He will be greatly missed.
The BOM proposes that a subcommittee will be set up with representatives from the BOM, the parents, staff and the pupils to oversee the organisation of the 75th anniversary celebration. Parents will be notified via text. BOM members: Mrs Aine Bleahene and Ms Claire Mc Greal will join this committee.
A recent reduction in SNA allocation to the school has resulted in the loss of Carmel O’ Riordan from our staff. The BOM wishes to acknowledge Carmel’s wonderful work, her loyalty and her kindness for the past ten years. The Board wishes Carmel all the best for the future.
Congratulations to teaching staff members, Majella O’ Rourke and Antoinette Blade, both of whom celebrated the birth of their sons.
Astro Turf Pitch
The Astro Turf pitch is now in use by all pupils in the school. This is a wonderful facility for our school and we are extremely grateful to all of those who have contributed to bringing this project to fruition. The BOM wishes to acknowledge the financial support of the following groups and organisations:

In addition the Board of Management acknowledges the high quality of work and professionalism throughout this construction by Paul Flynn Ltd and by Gerard Dolan of Dolan and Associates, Civil Engineering and Architectural Consultants.
Representatives from the above will be invited to the official opening of the Astro Turf Pitch, which will coincide with school’s 75th Anniversary Celebration before Christmas.
Fund Raising for the Astro Turf Pitch
The BOM has agreed to the raffling of two All Ireland Football Tickets, very kindly donated by Galway County Board. The raffle will take place on Friday September 19th and a permit has already been granted.
Mata Sa Rang
The BOM is delighted to support another new initiative within the school, namely Mata Sa Rang. This programme will be delivered as part of the First and Second Class Maths Programme, starting later this term.
Yellow Flag Award
The BOM congratulates all of those involved in the achievement of the school’s Yellow Flag for being a truly diverse and inclusive school. The official presentation of the flag will take place in Dublin in November.
Use of the School Premises by the Community
The BOM approved the application received by Ballinasloe Junior Chess Club to use the school facilities to hold chess lessons and competitions for the coming school year as per the terms and conditions agreed.
The BOM has also granted permission to Faith and Fun to use the school premises for the coming school year as per the terms and conditions agreed.

The BOM endorses the School Self Evaluation Report (2012-2015) and School Improvement Plan, which will be issued to all families.
The Principal informed the BOM that Gaeilge is the new subject for evaluation and review during the coming school year.
Speed Control Ramps R357 Ballinasloe-Shannonbridge Road
The Board of Management does not support any proposal to remove the speed ramps on the above road. These ramps have served to reduced speeding on this stretch of road, leading to a safer environment for our pupils travelling to and from school. The safety of our pupils will always be our priority.
