Agreed Report from the Board of Management February

February 6th 2013.

 BOM Agreed Report

1.Ongoing Improvements

The BOM is committed to the ongoing improvement of the school building and its surrounds. At present improvements to the school’s insulation are being explored. It is anticipated that such improvements are essential to protect the school during extreme weather conditions and to help reduce the spiraling cost of heating the school. Improvements to outdoor play facilities are also part of the Board’s development plan, supported by the Parents’ Association. The recent bag packing in Tesco which raised over €1700, along with the proceeds of the forthcoming quiz organised by the Parents’ Association are funds which will be used to improve the drainage of the large pitch. This will allow the pitch to be used for longer periods during the year.

2. CCTV Camera

The BOM will continue to ensure that the CCTV Cameras are operational and upgraded as the need arises to ensure an effective security system.

3. Peace Proms Concert

The BOM wishes to express its gratitude to the staff and pupils involved in the recent Peace Proms Concert in Galway.

6. Bee Spelling Test

The BOM congratulates Alison Kenny Coyne on being selected to represent the school at the Bee Spelling Competition in Galway on February 8th. Best of luck Alison.

7. Anti Bullying/Code of Behaviour Review

The committee has met to oversee the review of these policies. The BOM awaits their feedback in the future when this part of this process has been completed.

8. Stay Safe Training

The Stay Safe Programme is a mandatory part of the SPHE Programme in all primary schools in Ireland. The staff are already delivering this programme at all class levels. They will engage in further training in this area on April 17th 2013, as part of ongoing staff professional development.
