Whole School Evaluation
The Board of Management commends the Principal and the Staff on the very positive feedback from the inspectors following the recent whole school evaluation. The final official report will issue from the Department of Education and Skills over the coming weeks and will be made available to all parents/guardians.
Chief Inspector’s Report
The BOM will review the Chief Inspector’s Report, which was launched by the Department of Education and Skills on November 4th 2013.
Minor Works and Summer Works Grants
The BOM welcomes the reinstatement of the Minor Works and the Summer Works Grants to all primary schools. This will enable the school to maintain the current high standard of the building and its surrounds.
The Minister for Education proposes to issue a questionnaire to all parents/guardians in relation to school uniforms in the near future.
The BOM is delighted to hear of the many events planned for the school’s forthcoming Science week. Sincere thanks to Mrs Bleahene, the Science Co-ordinator and the Science Committee for their trojan work.
Use of the School by the Community
The school premises are currently being used by the Faith and Fun Club, Ballinasloe Soccer Club and Ballinasloe Chess Club.
The following work was undertaken over the mid-term break:

New Shelving to Store Rooms
Traffic and Parking at the School
The BOM, together with the school’s Parents’ Association, Safety Committee and the local Gardaí propose meeting with a view to alleviating traffic congestion around the school. Parents will be asked for their full co-operation in the interest of the welfare and safety of our pupils.
The BOM wishes to thank Mairead Canon for her ongoing work in the library. The BOM has allocated funding for the purchase of new books.
Official Opening Time
Parents/ Guardians are reminded that the official reception time for pupils is 9.20a.m. Some pupils continue to arrive extremely early for school and are not supervised at this time.
