Mrs Hurley’s Retirement from the Teaching Staff

The Board of Management wishes to thank Mrs Agnes Hurley, Assistant Principal for her dedicated service to Creagh NS for over 35 years. The BOM acknowledges the tremendous contribution that Mrs Hurley has made to the education of many, many pupils over the course of her career as a mainstream teacher, a resource teacher and in the past as a teacher of the Special Class. In addition Agnes has been a Special Duties Post Holder and Assistant Principal. In this role Agnes has been a key member of the In school Management Team. She has also been instrumental in the setting up of the school’s state of the art library. As the school librarian, she has continued to ensure that the library remains stocked with a very wide range of high quality, age appropriate books. Furthermore, Mrs Hurley has monitored and promoted school attendance. To the delight of many pupils, she has presented termly attendance certificates and annual certificates and trophies in recognition of the students’ excellent attendance. The BOM would like to make a presentation to Mrs Hurley. Therefore, in keeping with Mrs Hurley’s wishes, the BOM will make a donation in her name to Pieta House in Tuam. Her colleagues here on the staff are making a donation in Mrs Hurley’s name to support educational development in Tanzania, a project with which the school has had a long association. Mrs Hurley is a highly regarded colleague, held in great esteem by the Board of Management, parents, staff and pupils. She will be greatly missed when she bids us farewell on December 21st. We wish Mrs Hurley health and happiness in her retirement.
