Please note the following information:
First Holy Communion
Congratulations to the two second classes on the receipt of their First Holy Communion last Saturday. Many thanks to their class teachers, Ms Regina Power and Ms Emer O’ Sullivan, to the pupils in the choir, the organist, Ms Sinéad Cahalan and choir directors, Mrs Caroline Gallagher and Mrs Áine Bleahene. Sincere thanks also to Fr Declan Mc Inerney, chief celebrant, Fr Garvey, Fr O’ Donovan and Fr Killeen.
Confirmation: Saturday May 31st @ 11a.m. in St Michael’s Church.We wish the pupils, their teachers and their families the very best of luck on this very special occasion.
Bishop Kirby will visit the Confirmation Class on Wednesday May 21st.
The 6th class pupils will be doing a sponsored walk on Friday May 30th to fundraise for the connection of electrical supply to a water well and for furniture for Saku Primary School, Tanzania. All of the money raised goes directly to Tanzania.
We are delighted to announce the school’s success in being awarded its 8th Green Flag. Thanks to all of the committee, to the project co-ordinator, Mrs. Bleahene and to all of the staff and pupils for their great work. The flag will be presented to the school on May 20th.
Scór na bPáistí
Congratulations to David Ward, winner of the solo singing competition at the recent county final of Scór na bPáistí. David will now go forward to the All Ireland Final and we wish him the very best of luck. Well done to the following pupils who performed extremely well in this competition:

C U Factor
Congratulations to Niamh Costello and Dariya Plaksiy who came first in the Irish Dancing category and to Amy Costello who came second in Sean Nós Dancing. We wish the girls the very best of luck in the next round of the competition.
We ask you to continue to co-operate fully in relation to your child wearing the appropriate school uniform. A reminder please that the only shorts that may be worn during the fine weather are plain black shorts. Please note that shorts are entirely optional. Leggings are not part of the school uniform.
Safety in the Sun
Children should wear a hat and have sun cream applied prior to coming to school during warm weather. Additional drinks may also be required.
Revised Anti Bullying Policy
A hard copy of this policy has now been issued to all families. Please take time to read it carefully. If you ever have any concerns in relation to bullying, it is very important that you make contact as early as possible with the school.
End of Year Tests
End of Year tests will be administered to pupils from First-Sixth Classes during the period May 13th-May 29th inclusive. Tests cannot be rescheduled for pupils if they are absent from school as a result of holidays.
Closures for May/June
Friday May 23rd (Elections/School required as a Polling Station)
Monday June 2nd (Bank Holiday)
Friday June 20th: School Tours 2nd-6th Classes. There will be no school for pupils from Infants-1st Class.
