Dear Parents/ Guardians,

First Holy Communion and Confirmation

Congratulations to the two second classes and the two sixth classes on the receipt of their sacraments. Many thanks to the class teachers and all staff members involved in these two very special occasions. Sincere thanks also to Bishop Kirby, Fr Declan Mc Inerney and the priests of the parish for their very valuable support.

Sacrament of Penance

Pupils (2nd to 6th) will have the opportunity to go to Confession on Monday June 24th

End of Year Mass

The end of year mass will take place in Creagh Church on Wednesday June 26th at 10.30a.m. Parents/Guardians welcome.

6th Class Graduation: Wednesday June 26th 2013

Following the end of year Mass (approximately 11.30a.m.), the 6th class pupils, their class teachers, SNAs, parents and guardians are invited to attend a short ceremony in the school hall. Light refreshments will be served.

Collecting Old Mobile Phones

Please support our campaign to get another iPad for the school by collecting old mobile phones. Phones can be left into Ms Connaughton, Room 15 or at the secretary’s office. Many thanks!

Congratulations

Congratulations to Ms Colohan on the birth of her baby daughter earlier this month.

School Reports

End of year school reports will be posted to all families on Friday June 14th 2013.

School Tours

The school will be closed on Friday June 14th as pupils from 3rd to 6th Classes will be going on school tours. Infants to Second Classes will not come to school on this day.

Family Fun Day

The Parents’ Association are organising a Family Fun Day on Sunday afternoon June 9th here at the school grounds, weather permitting. Details to follow.

Mobile Phone Policy

A reminder once again that pupils are not allowed to have mobile phones in school. Thank you for your full co-operation.

School Uniform

We ask you to continue to co-operate fully in relation to your child wearing the appropriate school uniform. A reminder that only black shorts may be worn during the fine weather. Tracksuits may only be worn on PE days. Grey/white socks and grey/black tights are the only colours that should be worn with the girls’ uniform.

Visitors’ Book

For health and safety reasons, all visitors to the school must enter at reception and sign in and out, using the visitors’ book at the secretary’s office. This includes all parents/guardians who come to the school during school hours to collect pupils for appointments, to drop off lunches or to collect pupils if they are sick. We kindly request that you do not go directly to your child’s classroom. Thank you.

Active Schools Week

June 17th-21st. During this week, the school will have a GAA Day, Sports Day, Inter Schools Football Blitz (see details below) and the Talent Show.

Sean Meade Inter Schools Blitz

Creagh NS is delighted to organise the Sean Meade Inter Schools Blitz for the first time. Sean, a past pupil of Creagh NS, is a former Ballinasloe Club player and senior Galway County Footballer. He is best remembered for his key role in Galway’s three consecutive All Ireland Wins back in the 1960s. He has very kindly donated a cup to promote Gaeilc Football at Primary School Level.
